The 2005/2006 160m inverted L antenna was a quick experiment to try to improve my signal on top band due to poor response from my other efforts with a loaded vertical and loaded dipole. A #12 wire was run from a location near the base of my tower up about 60 ft to a pulley and then out towards the front fence to a tree about 25 ft high. Total length was adjusted (when I added as many as 17 radials) so that the antenna was resonant at 1830 KHz. Total antenna length was about 138 feet (approximate).

There were a total of 17 radials spaced about 10 degrees around the semicircle. The feedpoint impedance at resonance was measured at 34 ohms in January 2006. This was good enough to extend my DXCC total worked from 30 countries to 113 countries by the end of February 2006.
