It has been my life long dream to operate a pair of 813s powered by an 866A mercury vapor rectifier power supply so this is the beginning of a great new adventure!

813 Amplifier Newly Arrived
This "retired" amplifier with a pair of 813s was a fortunate "find" at the 2005 Dayton Hamvention. It was a great driving trip with W1FJ and W1MK and a perfect opportunity to bring something "big" back home. The amplifier was built by Richard Wood, N9TH, and will be my starting point for this project.

It looks pretty good but there is no power supply behind that panel. There are a few pictures of the RF deck on this page. The 866 power supply project starts on the next page.

The RF deck seems to have the major components in place. It will be a good start. The amp has not been in service for a very long time.

There is no filament transformer so I need to find one. Update Jan 2006: thanks to Robye, W1MK, I have a filament transformer!! This amp will go "live" sometime this year!
